Yay I am the first to post! I am so thrilled and excited that Project 50/50 is continuing and that God has brought you both together to serve Him. This will definitely be a memorable first year of marriage for you both.
I know it is not for another 9 months but I would love to have you come to Lynchburg, VA-home of Liberty University. We could have you guys stay here and feed you nice yummy food. I could also have my Sunday School class help you with your efforts. Let us know if you end up passing through here. We’ll be praying for you both and your journey ahead.
GREAT!
Keep up the good work!
God bless, and keep us posted!
Fantastic! With love from Portland Oregon, good things waiting here for all of you!

Shay & Shane, can’t really tell which highway you’re going to use from TX to OK, but if you come up 287, stop in Wichita Falls. At the very least, I’ll buy you lunch/dinner, and if possible, I’ll put you up for the night, and fill your gas tank! Might even help you fill up the back of Jethro with some goodies to take along on your trip (socks, anyone?? LOL).
Just drop me an e-mail, and we’ll make plans, if this fits into your schedule.
This is such an awesome adventure in Him that the Lord has given the two of you. By God’s grace we will see you when you get to MN. Love and blessings in Jesus to both of you, and to all you cross paths with as you give out His love.
Green Bay is a great city to check out, but Madison, WI would be a good place to see. In the winter many homeless try to head further South, if they are able, but Summertime in Madison finds many homeless in parks, on benches, under freeways…even though out “ever vigilant” police force tries to roust them out. It’s made the media lately that the recently redesigned Peace Park downtown now has a new No Loitering law and these people are now being ticketed & fined! I find that horrible. Anyway, you could find some good stories & supporters here.
You should be in WV in the beauty of Fall. Let me know if I can help you all with lodging when you head to Charleston. Send me an email. Looking forward to hopefully seeing you again and hearing about your journey. God’s blessing to you and your hubby as you begin another year of spreading His love!

Yeah, you can’t be all things to all people but having both helped the homeless in Austin and subsequently spent nearly 4 years being homeless near Austin, allow me to say that there is a lot of good to be done there. It’s only about 80 miles north of San Antonio on I’35. Check it out if you have time.
I currently split my time between Wilkes Barre and Mountaintop, PA. Have a brother at each end of the mountain. All three of us are only a few dollars away from being on the streets. Having siad that, if you’re anyplace close, E-mail me. We’ll kick in a few cans or a few bucks to help. Or either just drop by. I’ll make a big ole pot of Texas Chili and we’ll talk for hours. Probably even give you a place to crash. Then we’ll get yor dog a shampoo and hircut from my sister, the Professional Dog Groomer. I mean Professional, as in with a degree in it. She quit her job with some woman named Bicardi to strike out on her own. Guess Elizabeth just wasn’t all that fond of Rum and Rich Folks….
Hope to see you on the road when your in West Virginia. Have a great journey. Make disciples.
may God bless you on this amazing journey. You should trek north of Indy to Fort Wayne or South Bend!
@1_olddude and I will be cheering you guys on, and following your progress. Keep the dream going, and we will think of you often. #spreadthelove

Shay, do you have a place to stay in Austin? I can find somebody to put you up for a night or two (or three, or however long you plan to be in town). My house, sadly, is not company-friendly, but I’ve got lots of family and friends who’d be willing to host you. I can also start a drive to collect items for you and give them to you when you get here. Please send me an email or DM me on Twitter if you’d like me to help!
Would this the same “Shay and Shane”,I met Friday, afternoon.
If so, acknowledge.
Thank You, I really feel,Honored to have met both of you.
This is Awesome! Thank you so much.
I’ve been here a few times and it appears like your articles get more informative every time. Maintain it up I enjoy reading them.
Hello Shay and Shane,
I’ve been following your project since hearing Shay on NPR last year. The children at my UU church in Bridgewater recently partnered with those at a Baptist church in Brockton on a food drive for their food pantry. It was a huge success. We doubled the # of people they usually serve. Please let me know if you can swing by in September. We are in between Boston and Providence. Perhaps we can partner again to collect items for your project!
That’s awesome Ellen!! I’ll look forward to meeting you this fall

Shay–
I have been following your site since I found you were coming to Arkansas in 2010. I found out too late in 2010 to help but I want to help this year. My husband’s cousin is a pastor at Canvas Community in North Little Rock, Arkansas (Jamey Bentley). His other cousins, Russ and Katie Mohr (they live in Missouri) and Amanda Mohr (lives in NLR) is how I found out about you and your project last year. I do not know what your destination is in AR but I have posted your website on my FB page and I have sent out an email to everyone I know about your project and will be collecting food/socks/hygiene products/blankets etc. from now until you come in November. I hope to have truck loads or trailer loads of stuff for you to donate out. I feel so strongly about this project that you and Shane are doing. God Bless Ya’ll!!
Awesome! We’re looking forward to it Michelle and we’ll see you in November!

Well ya’ll as we say in OK wish I could have met you!! but will follow your trails. God bless you for all you are doing. God will take care of you!
What are the chances you would pop over the border from Washington to Canada. I’m really close to the border and know of some who could really use your Love. And I would support in any way needed. Please consider it. The area I am thinking of is 10 minutes inside Canada from the Peace Arch border crossing.
Considering…
